Why Mount Papandayan is Perfect for Family Gathering

The Journey
Day 1
Our journey started on Saturday and departed at 5 A.M. after a quick briefing from Bandung. We arrived at the base of Mount Papandayan area by 8 A.M. Here we gave the participants information about Mount Papandayan and a mini workshop on nature photography for the children. Then we trek from the base to Pondok Salada at 10 A.M. We reached Pondok Salada by 12 P.M. and started making the tents. Children also participated in making tents and learned some basic camping techniques.
After having lunch and rest, we indulged in a Photo-Hunting quest at Pondok Salada. Later at 2 P.M. we trekked to the dead forest and had another Photo-Hunting quest there. We had fun and finally got back to Pondok Salada by the afternoon to camp. We set a bonfire that night, all the participants were having a good time.
Day 2
The next day, we did a little trekking down to Lawang Angin early in the morning to see the sunrise. There is a nice spot to take a photograph of the sunrise in Papandayan, on a cliff between Pondok Salada and Lawang Angin. Then we headed back to the camp and gave the children another session of outdoor basic training to keep them entertained while waiting for breakfast. Finally, breakfast was ready at 8 A.M. After that, we had some games and a treasure hunt. Later we checked the points gained from the Photo-Hunting quest and gave a little prizes for the children. Then, we had lunch before going down the mountain and headed home.
